“Acutouch” is a term coined to invoke the experience of delivering a heavenly, comfortable acupuncture experience, as gentle and precise as human touch. We believe that the most comfortable needle stimulation for each individual generates the maximum effects and benefits of the treatment. Our acupuncture style is based on thousands of years of cultivated Traditional Chinese Medicine, uniquely combined with the delicate touch of Japanese acupuncture.
ABOUT AYUMI
Ayumi Uede, L.Ac is a California and New York licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist and also licensed (NY) and certified (CA) Massage Therapist. A graduate of the Pacific College of Health and Science and Swedish Institute College of Health Science in New York. She specializes in Musculoskeletal issues, Chronic pain and Women’s health.
TREATMENT
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an alternative therapeutic method of inserting disposable hair-thin needles into specific points to help activate the body’s natural healing abilities. It relieves pain, reduces inflammation, improves digestive systems and promotes physical and emotional well-being. Adjunctive therapies such as moxibustion, cupping, guasha, and external liniment application are also used as needed.
Asian Body Works
Asian body works is a manual therapy ranging from light touch to deep manipulation to affect the patient's body. Although it is one of the massage therapies, by stimulating acu-pressure points or along the acupuncture meridians, it is supposed to promote blood circulation and energy flow, regulate the autonomic nervous system, lymphatic and hormonal systems, and help to achieve optimal health.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is prescribed, from over 250 classical formulas with hundreds of herbs, based on each individual’s conditions and underlying cause of conditions. It is based on over 2,000 years of medical experience and is considered safe and effective when prescribed by a licensed Acupuncturist / Herbalist. Studies also have shown Chinese herbal medicines are successful in treating a range of disorders.
